Quantium is a leading data science and AI firm, founded in Australia in 2002. Quantium combines the best of human and artificial intelligence to power possibilities for individuals, organizations, and society.
As part of Quantium's hypothetical retail analytics team, help was needed by a client (the Category Manager for Chips at a supermarket), to better understand the types of customers who purchase Chips and their purchasing behavior within the region. The insights from the analysis would be fed into the supermarket’s strategic plan for the chips category in the next half year.
I set out to do the following:
The dataset was created by Quantium and consists of customer transactions and details of customers. The dataset was uploaded to google sheets and cleaned. New features were added using IF, LEFT/RIGHT and VLOOKUP functions to allow the project objectives to be met. The dataset was then uploaded to Tableau for visualizations.
At the end of the analysis,
As a company, the client wants to be able to tell the category of customers who purchase the most chips and their brand preference, and the least purchased brands of chips in order to address the core reasons why customers prefer other brands to them. Additionally, the client needs a plan to target specific customers with more proactive purchasing behaviors.
The dataset consists of customer transactions and details of customers which are both separate CSV files provided by Quantium.
